JAMMU, June 29: Today Special Investigating Team headed by RC Kotwal produced challan against Yasir Alfaz S/o Kher Din R/o Shiva Doda who was arrested by the Janipur police in FIR No 51/2016 u/s 295/295-A/353/506 RPC in Aap Shambu temple desecration case.
According to the case Mohammad Yasir, 25, son of Kher Din, resident of Shiva, Doda, was spotted inside the ‘Aap Shambu temple’ at Roop Nagar at about 5 pm. He pelted stones and damaged windscreens of the temple apart from indulging in sacrilegious acts.
Today police after completion of investigation presented challan in the court of Principal Sessions Judge Jammu because the offences are special offences which are triable by the Session Court only. Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjay Gupta after hearing CPO Jawaid Ahmed Khawaja appearing for the police transferred the challan in the court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu. 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu after diarizing the challan sent the accused to Kot-Bhalwal Jail and fixed July 22, 2016 for arguments on charge.
Meanwhile 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu also granted 10 days judicial remand of Gurbachan Singh who was allegedly involved in Nanak Nagar Shiv Mandir desecration case.
