Police foils bovine smuggling bids in Kathua, Samba; rescues 29 animals

KATHUA Jan 11:  Twenty nine bovine animals were rescued in three smuggling bids at three different places by district Police of Kathua and Samba respectively.
District Police Kathua foiled two bovine smuggling bids at Hatli More and Sunjwan falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua and Rajbagh respectively.
During the nakas at these two places police rescued 17 bovine animals and arrested both of the accused drivers.
Acting on a tip off, Police team led by SI Verinder Singh Incharge Police Post Industrial Estate under the direct supervision of S.S. Sambyal Dy.SP Headquarters Kathua laid a naka at Hatli Morh late last night and intercepted one truck bearing Registration No JK09- 3291 which was carrying bovine animals. The truck was on way from Punjab towards Jammu.
Police arrested the accused driver, seized the truck and rescued eleven bovine animals being smuggled in the vehicle. The accused driver was identified as Mohammad. Yasin son of Gamma Ahmed resident of Samba. A case FIR No 15/2018 under Section 188 RPC, 3/5 PCA Act stands registered at PS Kathua against him.
Kathua police foiled another bovine smuggling bid in Rajbagh area.  A team of Police Station, Rajbagh led by ASI Ram Chand as deputed by Inspector Sarabjeet Singh, SHO Police Station  Rajbagh  under the direct supervision of Dy.SP, Raghubir Singh, SDPO Border laid down a naka in wee hours at Sunjwan area falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh and intercepted one Mahindra pickup bearing  Registration Number JK21B 9403 carrying six bovine animals.
The vehicle was on way from Punjab to Jammu. Police arrested the accused driver namely Raj Mohd alias Raju son of Mohd Shafi resident of Manohar Gopala Samba. It seized the vehicle and rescued six bovine animals being smuggled in it. A case FIR No 03/2018 under Section 188 RPC,3/5 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Rajbagh against him.
Meanwhile Ghagwal Police rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested the two persons involved in smuggling of the animals. A police party of Police Station Ghagwal during a naka checking at NHW Tapyal signaled to stop a Truck bearing regd. No. JK02R-2769 which was coming from Kathua side. On seeing the Police Party, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. After a successful chase by the Police, the truck was intercepted near NHW Jatwal.
During checking of the vehicle, 12 Bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally without any permission. The accused driver namely Parvez Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Khanpur, Nagrota along with associate namely Manzoor Ahmed son of Mohd Musa resdient of Khanpur Nagrota  was arrested on spot and all the bovines animals were rescued.   In this regard a case FIR No. 09/2018 under Section 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The Police Party led by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal foiled the bovine smuggling bid under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba and under overall supervision of  Anil Magotra, KPS, SSP Samba.
Police also said a team of Rajbagh Police today seized 10 litres illicit liquor and destroyed about 80 litres Desi Lahan. Police swiftly reacted to a specific information about one lady who was selling illicit liquor on road side in village Verso Chak (Gota Roa) Merheen in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh. After receiving information SHO PS Rajbagh along with his team raided the area and seized 10 litres of illicit liquor and arrested the accused lady. It also destroyed 80 litres of Lahan that she kept in her home. A case FIR No 04/2018  under Section 48-A  Excise Act stands registered at  Police Station Rajbagh in this regard also.
These drive was launched under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar, Additional SP Kathua and  on the directives of SSP Kathua, Suleman Choudhary.
