Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 11 animals

KATHUA, Jan 8: Hiranagar Police has foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 11 bovine animals in the area.
Acting on tip off, SHO Police Station Hiranagar, Suresh Gautam deputed a team of policemen led by S I Anand Dutta. The Police party laid down a naka near Kattal Chowk area and intercepted one truck bearing registration number PB06F 4141 which was carrying bovine animals. The truck was on way from Punjab to Jammu. During checking of the vehicle, Police rescued 11 bovine animals being smuggled in the vehicle but the driver of the vehicle managed to escape taking advantage of darkness.
A case FIR No 06/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at PS Hiranagar and investigation into the matter is in progress to arrest the bovine smuggler.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of  SDPO Border, Raghubir Singh and overall supervision of Sanjay Parihar, Addl SP Kathua on the directives of  SSP Kathua, Suleman Choudhary.
