BHADERWAH, Dec 21: Police today busted a new modus operandi of drug peddlers by recovering the banned drugs from a soft drink bottle.
A police spokesman said that, a team from Domail police post laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds at Domail.
During checking, police recovered 700 capsule, 21 bottles of liquid intoxicants and 50 tablets from his possession.
The drug peddler was arrested, who has been identified as Mehraj Din, son of Abdul Latif Sheikh of Bhaderwah.
The drug peddler has used a new modus operandi to smuggle intoxicants by carrying banned drug in a bottle of soft drink to give dodge to police.
A case under FIR Number 201/14 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bhadarwah police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by Head constable (HC) Mohammad Ishtaq and a team of 33 Battalion CRPF led by Head constable (HC) Shankar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bhadarwah police station Inspector Bandeshwar Manhas, SP Bhaderwah Amit Bhasin and SSP Doda MS Chouhan.
