PoK DPs denied facilities, KPs enjoying: Rajiv Chuni

BADYAL  BRAHMANA (Suchetgarh), May 29:  Chairman of the SOS International-an organisation of displaced persons from PoK, Rajiv Chuni today said that  displaced persons from  PoK are deprived of the facilities while Kashmiri migrants were being provided all sort of facilities and relief.
Addressing a large gathering  during rally at Badyal Brahmana in Suchetgarh today,  Mr Chuni said that thousands of PoK Displaced Persons thronged into the rally and castigated Government’s callous approach towards PoK DPs.
The motive of organizing rally was to distribute white paper exposing the biased approach of Government towards PoK DPs viz-a-viz Valley migrants.  SOS International chairman, further said that  Badyal Brahmana is still known as it was known during 1947 i.e. Badyal Brahmana Camp adding, that it is because Government has not taken the trouble to address the plights of the destitute community even after 7 decades of their exile from PoK.
Mr Chuni further said that the intensity of discrimination can be gauged by the fact that those who were migrated in 1947 still living in camps and those who willingly migrated in 1990’s are having all sorts of facilities including accommodation, free electricity, free water, free monthly ration, monthly cash relief, health care facilities, community halls, reservation for their wards in professional and technical institutions across the country, employment package and what not. He said that the miserable condition of PoK DPs is not concealed to anyone adding, that Government’s step mother behaviour elevating the agony of the first ever victims of the State.
“Our Community has suffered a lot moreover; the younger generation is the worst sufferer as they are idle as they don’t have jobs resulting in depression which is pushing them towards drug addiction. Since 1947, PoK DPs have been struggling for much awaited justice but it is denied all the time,” he added.
Launching a scathing attack on Modi Government in Centre and PDP-BJP Coalition in State, S O S International chairman further stated that PoK DPs issue redressal was the foremost promise made by PM Modi when he began his election campaign in the border state, 2 years ago.
Lalit Kumar conducted stage proceedings while others who also spoke on the occasion included were Roshan Lal, Om Parkash, OP Khajuria, Raju Sharma, Papu Sudan, Ashok Kumar, Vijay Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Pt Satish Sharma, Tarvinder Singh, Virinder Khajuria and Binny Sharma.
