JAMMU, Oct 20: Alleging deep rooted conspiracy against the refugees, the Jammu and Kashmir Refugees Front- 1947, 65, 71; an organization of refugees today staged massive protest demonstration against the NC-Congress coalition at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today.
A large number of members of the Front, led by its president, Rachhpal Singh Chib assembled near Press Club at around 11.30 AM and started protest demonstration. They shouted slogans in support of their demands. They alleged that PoJK refugees are the State subjects and recommending their wards only for special recruitment  in Central forces and professional colleges and ignoring them in the State Government jobs or local professional colleges, is deep rooted conspiracy to oust them.
Mr Chib while addressing the large gathering of uprooted people from Deva-Batala, Mirpur, Bhimber, Manawar, Kotli, Palandhari, Bhag and Muzaffarabad said that State Government has provided reservation to Gujjar -Bakerwals and other  STs besides  SCs, OBCs, KPs and residents of ALC etc but the PoJK refugees have been recommended only for quota in Central Paramilitary forces. They are also state subjects and they were being kept out of the purview of their share in the State jobs and professional institutes.
Refugees leader pointed out that NC-Congress cabinet ministers gave  approval to the package for refugees at this point of time, sensing their worst defeat in the Assembly elections. It is just mockery and yet another attempt to befool them at the time when elections are just to commence and UPA has gone out of power. Both the parties have played yet another card to woo refugees. He claimed that refugees would vote against NC and Congress as they have just befooled and not helped the refugees.
Chib pointed out that there is no mention of providing political reservation  to the PoJK refugees despite the fact that 24 Assembly seats of PoK have been frozen. At least fifty percent (12) seats  be kept reserved for the PoJK refugees. He also demanded that deficiency of land of those families who have projected the same be removed. Chib said that refugees are going to intensify agitation for their pending issues in near future.
