PMs go on changing but policies remain same in Delhi: Chuni

JAMMU, June 10:  SOS International, an organisation of displaced persons from PoK today castigated Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for his remarks over cash compensation of Rs 5.5 lakh per family to West Pakistan refugees at par with PoK refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971.
While issuing a press statement, SOS International chairman  Rajiv Chuni said that cash compensation announced by Home Minister to West Pakistan refugees is a good step and SOS International welcomes it but PoK DPs have never expected such intensity of disparity by none other than Home Minister of our country as he has equated state subjects with non-state subjects, that is totally out of the ordinary step taken by him.
“There should have been the comparison of same state subjects displaced communities. If  Singh had to announce anything for displaced communities then Kashmiri Pandits must have been brought at par with PoK DPs as these two state subject communities belonging  to same State. Home Minister must have announced relief to PoK DPs at par with Kashmiri Pandits then it must have given some sense but Rajnath Singh reversed the flow of river that is quite disappointing”, he added.
Chuni further said that all the successive Governments have never extended helping hand towards the most destitute community of world and the present Government has also been following same footsteps of its predecessors. “The present Government must have compared the state subject communities (PoK DPs and Kashmiri Pandits) and both communities must get equal treatment by Government. This is bizarre that one community is suffering and other is enjoying every sort of benefit. If one displaced community gets monthly cash relief then why don’t the other community gets the same treatment?
He said the other key demands of PoK DPs include reservation to wards in technical and professional colleges across India, employment package for unemployed youth of PoK DP, political reservation in State legislature.
