PM urged to announce special package for SKUAST-J

JAMMU, May 18: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology – Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ),  in a written representation  has apprised  Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding much required additional faculties in the university and also demanded announcement of Special Financial Prime Minister Package (PM PACKAGE) on the eve of 6th Convocation of SKUAST-Jammu, scheduled to be held tomorrow.
In the representation, president SKUAST-TAJ, Dr Vikas Sharma has informed the PM that despite approval in the Board of Management and University Council in 2005, the proposal for much required three more faculties and one division has been made hostage by the State Govt to the process of seeking repeated queries from the last 12 years due to lack of funds.
This formal proposal of SKUAST-Jammu for approval is still awaiting nod of the Agriculture Production and the Planning Department notwithstanding the detailed and point-wise justification of the reply to all the queries with regard to required staff strength and budget estimates for the same, explains the representation adding that the issue has been highlighted many times before the Governor as well as the State Government but no action was taken for the reasons best known to the persons at the helm of affairs in the State Government administration.
SKUAST-TAJ has also requested the PM to consider the genuine demand of announcement of Special Prime Minister Package (PM PACKAGE) on the eve of 6th Convocation of SKUAST-Jammu that can be utilized for the sanction of much required additional faculties of SKUAST-Jammu and said that this will go a long way in bringing the overall economic enhancement.
The signatories to the representation are Dr Vivak Arya, Dr P K Rai, Dr Devinder Sharma, Dr. Rajeev Sangra, Dr B Brahma and Non-Teaching president PDK Uppal.
