PM Modi to address BJP Natl Executive meet

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the valedictory address at the BJP National Executive meet here on Monday.
A large number of BJP MLAs, Ministers and MPs are attending the two-day meet that got underway on Sunday. On the first day, party’s national office-bearers, state chiefs and other key leaders reviewed the organisational works especially in last six months since the last Executive meeting at Bhubaneswar.
BJP chief Amit Shah during the meeting, said that Central and BJP-ruled state governments have worked on tackling the menace of corruption. There was a general mood of enthusiasm among party leaders and workers and BJP’s expansion nationwide has yielded political dividends to the party, general secretary Bhupender Yadav told reporters.
He said the meeting also resolved to carry on the pledge of Swachh Bharat and New India. Today, all BJP lawmakers besides its core group leaders and party’s senior leadership from states, will participate in the National Executive Meet.
The day also coincides with the birth anniversary of BJP and RSS ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay, the founderof Jan Sangh – the fore runner of BJP. During the day, the Prime Minister and Mr Shah are likely to hold a separate meeting with Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of all BJP ruled states and review development and social welfare schemes and their implementation. A few cabinet ministers are also likely to attend the meeting.
The National Executive comes just a few weeks before the crucial Assembly Elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. From November this year to November-December 2018, elections are to be held in as many as nine states. (AGENCIES)
