PM holds PRAGATI video conference with Chief Secretaries

JAMMU, Feb 22: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today  held his monthly video conference under Pro-active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) initiative with Union Secretaries of various Ministries and Chief Secretaries of States.
Chief Secretary J&K, B R Sharma also participated in the video conference.
Prime Minister received detailed brief from Union Secretary, Department of Telecommunication regarding redress of grievances related to quality of services provided to the consumers in broadband and mobile network by BSNL.
Prime Minister also reviewed the progress of various central projects related to Railways and Road Transport & Highways and the status of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
Secretary, Urban Development & HUPA, Ministry of Urban Development briefed the Prime Minister about the progress achieved under PMAY. She informed that 3883 cities have included under the Mission and as many as 16.4 lakh dwelling units have been sanctioned.
Prime Minister urged Chief Secretaries and the concerned Administrative Secretaries to proactively work out a strategic plan to complete the task of providing housing facilities to all under the mission before the year 2022. He called upon the State Governments to ensure weekly review of the progress under PMAY and take it forward as a development model for improving the quality of life of the citizens. He said status reports should also be sent to the PMO.
On the occasion, Prime Minister also called upon all Chief Secretaries to review the status in respect of 340-Point Ease of Doing Reform Action Plan on weekly basis. He said the reforms are intended to improve our ranking at the global level as released by the World Bank. He urged State Governments to complete the reforms within the next couple of months i.e before the World Bank releases the new ranking in ease of doing business. He also asked the Union Cabinet Secretary to hold a video conference with all Chief Secretaries in this regard.
