JAMMU, Feb 7: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct the expert committee constituted for removing pay anomalies in respect of staff of lower grade pay in different categories in the 7th Pay Commission (PC) to submit its report to the Government without any further delay.
Addressing a well attended meeting of workers here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri said that the time period of the said committee has exceeded its term already, so that confusion and uncertainty in the mind of these categories could come to end.
He remarked that recommendations of the 7th PC have not benefited the lower salaried class particularly class IV employees of the Government, adding that in view of rising costs of living, the DA raise of only two percent July last year is too meager to offer any succor.
Expressing his concern regarding the non -finalization of House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other related allowances by the said committee, Shastri hoped that the committee after taking a comprehensive view of rising cost of essential commodities and services will take sympathetic view and restore the position of payment of these allowances as per earlier table of 10.20 and 30 percent respectively.
