UDHAMPUR, Apr 16: The monthly meeting of District Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, district president of the Forum, for highlighting demands and issues of the cadre.
The meet demanded regularization of all the incharge incumbents, in the School Education Department and suggested that training of teaching staff should be invariably conducted in summer/winter vacations only so that class work may not suffer
Referring to the decision of the School Education Department to admit the students in the 11th class just after the conclusion of their SSE exams, the speakers said that it will lead to chaos and confusion. They warned the Department against experimenting and said that major decisions having long term implications should be taken after threadbare discussions and consultations with all stakeholders such as teachers’ organizations, parents, students, academicians etc.
Further, they added, mass promotion of the students of 9th class to 10th class will lead to deterioration of standard of education and order in this regard must be reviewed.
They also demanded that the Head examiners, sub examiners, checking assistants and all those engaged in the coding, evaluation and checking in the State Board Exams should be provided lunch as they are required to perform their duties from 10 am to 5:30 pm at JKBOSE office at Rehari, Jammu and the staff engaged for these duties from faraway places such as Udhampur, Samba, Kathua etc be paid TA/haltage as per rules.
They also demanded early declaration of the result of HSP-11 to enable the students to seek admission in various professional colleges.
The Foum resented that despite the Education Minister’s assurance,   many teachers have been engaged as enumerators for updation of National Population Register and preparation of Aadhar cards.
The Forum also demanded a ban on piecemeal transfers and said that transfers should invariably be ordered during breaks and strictly according to the transfer policy announced by the Government.
