Plus 2 Lecturers highlight demands

UDHAMPUR, June 18: Monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, district president for seeking regularization of the incharge incumbents in the School Education Department and also highlighting other demands.
The Incharge lecturers in discipline of Physical Education, present in the meeting, said that as a result of reorganization of the Department of Youth Services and Sports in 2006, 386 posts of lecturers in Physical Education were created and 192 PEMs/PETs were promoted as Incharge Lecturers in Physical Education in April 2008 but they have not been regularized yet though their original documents related to qualification etc have been lying with the Department of Youth Services and Sports since December, 2015.They said that 193 candidates were also selected and appointed as Lecturers in Physical Education under direct quota in 2016 and demanded early regularization of all 192 Incharge Lecturers in Physical Education.
The speakers also resented that even after the lapse of about a year and despite highlighting the demand repeatedly, the orders for the sanction of incentives in favour of those Principals, Lecturers, Masters, Teachers etc, who were engaged to run extra classes during the summer vacation last year, were not issued. They also demanded rationalization of staff in the schools in accordance with the roll and subject need. They also demanded early clearance of bills of staff engaged by JKBOSE for the purpose of supervision and evaluation in Board exams and deployment of staff for the Board exams, especially biannual exams in consultation with the Principals.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma urged the Government to concede other long pending demands of the Plus 2 Cadre, such as benefit of running pattern, upgradation of the post of lecturer in Physical Education, enhancement in the Grade Pay of Principals and declaration of their post as non-vocational etc.
Prominent among those, who spoke on the occasion, included Ashwani Kumar, Bishan Sharma, Ram Murti, Luxmi Kant, Ravi Kanchan, Pawan Kumar, Amrit Lal, Rakeshwar Sharma, Veena Rani and others.
