Plight of pensioners

Sir,
Let me highlight the grievances of senior pensioners. To mention here, the State Government has decided to give the benefits of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations to all of the pensioners and family pensioners. But the procedure prescribed for the same is very cumbersome in that the concerned pensioners are required to get their last pay particulars verified from the office of their DDOs which are not reachable by the old and fragile pensioners. These offices in respect of many pensioners may be located in far-flung areas like Doda, Poonch, Leh, Kargil etc and as such may not be easily reachable by the concerned pensioners.
In this context I would like to cite a few examples of my area. One Mr N L Sharma of Sunderbani had retired on April 30,1996 and expired in the last week of September 2018 without getting any benefit of pension revision and leaving behind an unmarried daughter who is unable to run after the office of the concerned DDO. Another similar case is of a Sub Inspector of J&K State police who had expired in January 1995 and his DDOs office is located in Batmaloo Srinagar and his family members are unable to go to this office. One selection grade constable of village Dandesar Nowshera who is crossing the age of ninety-six years and has also turned blind is unable to attend the office of his DDO at Poonch. In this way there are many pensioners who would be unable to attend the office of DDOs personally.
Hence, the concerned authorities of the Finance Department are requested to kindly relax and simplify the process of pension revision. As the PPO contains the details of pay particulars, the concerned treasury officers should be assigned the task of preparing pension revision cases on the basis of enteries made in the PPO and the senior pensioners may be exampted from the personal attendance.
