JAMMU, Dec 31: The 8th Natrang Theatre Festival of this year concluded here today with the staging of Hindustani play ‘Apna Apna Dard’.
The play was written by Hammidullah and directed by Neeraj Kant.
The play ‘Apna Apna Dard’ presents different layers of human emotions in different relations and also the deep sorrow associated with them.
Everyone has his/her own expectations which may not go in synch with the expectations of others thus the pains erupt. Though the play dealt with different stories but the common character which remains in central position throughout the play is a young girl, ‘Madhu’ who is not having a happy life because of the circumstances. She endeavours to change her situation but opts a wrong choice for it which punishes her till her death. The play also teaches us that one has to make right choices to lead a happy and successful life and if our intentions are good but the choices are bad, we still are destined to be doomed and this is what happened with ‘Madhu’ in the play.
The artists who performed in the play were Meenakshi Bhagat, Vrinda Sharma, Sushant Singh Charak, Manoj Kumar Lalotra and Shivam Singh. The supporting staff included Shivam Singh, Neeraj Kant, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Sameena Kousar and Mohd. Yaseen.
