Place new Master Plan for Jammu in 2 months: HC tells J&K

JAMMU: The Double bench of Jammu and Kashmir High Court today directed the State to place new Master Plan for Jammu in two months.

In a Public Interest Litigation regarding unauthorised construction in the city of Jammu, a Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan granted two months’ time to JMC for placing the New Master Plan 2032.

The Division Bench observed that in pursuance of Court directions, compliance report has been filed by Additional Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department on November 30, 2016 regarding preparation of Revised Master Plan.

It is reported that steps were taken, objections were received from the general public and placed before the Board of Inquiry on November 2, 2016.

DB further observed that the sustainable objections were finalized after threadbare discussions and all sustainable objections in the revised master plan Jammu 2032 are being addressed on Geographical Information System platform. (AGENCIES)
