JAMMU, Oct 23:  Panun Kashmir (PK) has expressed surprise over the remarks of former Chief Minister and NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah favouring talks between Pakistan and India for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
In a statement issued here today PK said Dr. Abdullah’s remarks are unwarranted and unjustified and amounts to demoralising the forces. Addressing a meeting of P K here, its president V K Bhat advised former Chief Minister to restrain from such mischievous statements which carry an element of bad odor and are misleading.
The PK also slammed the opposition including Congress and CPI (M) for favouring talks with Pakistan at a critical juncture when the security forces are giving a befitting reply to them. The party president said that these pseudo secular and pseudo-nationalists always act contrary to the decision taken by Central Government.
While entire country stood behind the Government like a rock for the surgical strikes carried by Indian forces on the launching pads of terrorists in PoK, it is shocking to hear from such leaders demanding holding of talks with Pakistan. It seems that these leaders are coming to the rescue of Pakistan as they fear that the strikes may damage and demolish the terrorist camps in PoK, said the convenor of the PK Ravinder Jalali. Had the Abdullah been serious in reducing the tension on the borders he should have appreciated the strikes and should have sought more to end the menace of terrorism, knowing well that it is the PoK along LoC where approximately 150 such launching pads and terrorist training camps are run under the guidance and supervision of Pakistani army and ISI.
“We have been talking to them only for the last 70 years. It is surprising that whenever some action is resorted by New Delhi, the Kashmir centric leadership unequivocally issue statements which are not in good tone keeping in view the interests of the country. May be they know that to be relevant in Kashmir politics one has to be anti-India’’, he added.
