JAMMU, Nov 6: Panun Kashmir led by Vijay Bhat slammed Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on his misleading remarks on Article 370 of Indian Constitution.
In a meeting held in Jammu president Vijay Bhat termed the statement of Mehbooba that Article 370 is a commitment from the nation to the people of J&K, as ridiculous and a blatant lie. Chief Minister Mehbooba was speaking in New Delhi where she said that maintaining Article 370 is nation’s commitment which is entirely wrong and baseless and is misleading the country. He advised CM to take some time off and do some home work before expressing such rhetoric views.
Panun Kashmir, convenor, Ravinder Jalali said that it is this Article 370 which has created doubts and suspicious in the minds of the people of Kashmir and has created a sense of alienation of the people of J&K from rest of India. He further said that CM and all other Kashmir centric leaders who are terming this Article as a bridge when actually it has created a void between the Kashmiri and rest of India. On one hand she wanted that New Delhi must win the confidence of people of Kashmir but at the same time wants to retain Article 370 is itself contradictory. It is this Article 370 which has alienated the people of J&K from the rest of India.
The fact of the matter is that had Kashmir centric leaders been serious and sincere about this Article 370, then there would have been no problem at present but unfortunately or fortunately it has been strengthened for the last 70 years by the successive Governments represented by all the parties and most interestingly all the Governments which the State had so far, are all Kashmir centric and Muslim dominated.
