JAMMU, Sept 2: Panun Kashmir (PK) held a meeting of its Executive Council here, today to discuss the current socio-political scenario of the State in context of the debate on the issues like Art35A, security situation and the immediate concerns of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit youth. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president, PK. Those who attended the meeting included Virender Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee PK, J.L.Kaul, its vice president, Kamal Bagati, general secretary(Org), J.L.Drabu, Shiban Lal Bhat, P.N.Pandita, Vimla Chrungoo, secretary-DOPK and Santosh Sharma.
It also decided to fully support the joint event at Delhi on the occasion of Kashmiri Pandit Balidaan Divas.
P K president, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his address said that his organisation welcomes the US Administration decision to stop the pending financial aid to Pakistan due to its failure to control and finish terror and terror infrastructure on the land under its control. This is indeed a very encouraging decision that should be welcomed.
P K clarifies that the concerns of the Kashmiri Pandits related to the immediate economic and social importance need to be addressed by the Government on priority. The new Governor’s regime is expected to expedite the process of recruitment of the displaced youth under the PM’s employment package. It is extremely astonishing that even after ten years of the announcement of the recruitment package by the then Prime Minister, the establishment seems busy with administrative rigmarole, he added.
The compensation to the overaged youth is one more issue that needs immediate attention. There is a large constituency among the displaced people which is hopeful of a positive role by the administration under the Governor’s rule. P K appeals to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene in the matter and bring succor to the agitating people of the community.
There is no doubt that the Kashmir security and political situation is drifting and people, who on the one hand have repeatedly ‘discarded’ the Indian Constitution, are bent upon to hoodwink the opinion of the people in context of hearing on the legal status of Art35 A of the same Constitution.  The Islamic radicalization of the society and the Talibanisation of the terror regime has already begun showing their results in the shape of abduction and killings of the people.
Virender Raina, Chairman, Political Affairs Committee said that P K is seriously concerned over the delay in the decisions regarding the Kashmir temples and Shrines Bill. “We demand that the Bill be given the shape of an Ordinance after a due process of debate and discussion on the subject with the stakeholders and issued as such.
