Pistol, live cartridges recovered from notorious criminal

JAMMU, Sept 17: Gandhi Nagar police recovered country made pistol and live cartridges from a notorious criminal, who was arrested yesterday.
As per police sources, during investigation of a case registered under FIR Number 85/17 under Section 379 RPC with Police Station Gandhi Nagar, one country made pistol and 5 live cartridges were recovered on the disclosure of an arrested notorious criminal.
The arrested notorious criminal has been identified as Manjot Singh alias Jot, son of Jaspal Singh, a resident of Ward Number 2 Simbal Camp.
A fresh case under FIR Number 159/17 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar against the accused person.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier one country made katta along with 2 live rounds were also recovered by Gandhi Nagar Police yesterday from another notorious criminal.
The recovery was made by SHO Gandhi Nagar DySP (P) Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani and assisted by SI Vicky Thapa from Police Station Gandhi Nagar and Incharge Digiana Police Post SI Pawan Dogra made the recovery under the supervision of SDPO South Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
