Pistachio rises on increased buying

NEW DELHI, Feb 6:  Pistachio prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today supported by fresh buying by retailers and stockists amidst fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,260-1,390 and Rs 1,385-1,410 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid restricted supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up pistachio prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 18,000, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,000-10,200, Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,800-7,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-19,500.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 640-650 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 725-850 per kg. (PTI)
