SRINAGAR, Oct 19: The Minister for Horticulture, Hajj and Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri has said the pioneering initiatives taken by the present Government on the developmental front have put J&K on the trajectory of economic growth and prosperity. He said the momentum of this new era of development would be further expanded to ensure all-round development of various regions and sub-regions of the State.
Interacting with various deputations of Anantnag district during his two-day extensive visit of the area, the Minister made it clear that all the areas in the district would get equal share in development and no injustice would be done to any area.
He assured the deputations that the genuine developmental needs of their respective areas would be accomplished in a phased manner. He also impressed upon the officers to solve the people’s genuine problems on priority.
Veeri said primary responsibility of the public representatives is to go to the people for determining and addressing their problems. He asked people to know their rights and seek due share in development process launched by the Government across the State
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister said that due consideration is being given for promotion of horticulture, agriculture and other productive sectors in the area. He said focused attention is being also paid to upgrade education, health, power, drinking water and road connectivity facilities especially in far off areas.
The Minister said that providing improved basic facilities besides all-round development under core sectors in far off and hilly areas was the priority of the Government adding that in this regard innovative initiatives taken by the Government during last seven months yielding tangible results on the ground.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to ensure time bound completion of all the on-going projects in the area for early benefit of the people. He instructed them for speedy disposal of day to day people’s problems adding any official negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously.
