KATRA, June 21: Pilgrims had to suffer as employees and Safai Karamcharis of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board went on pen down and tool down strike in support of their demands.
The protesting employees are demanding implementation of 7th Pay Commission, revival of old pension policy and grant of CITU etc.
The strike created chaos all around the track as heaps of garbage were found lying on the track due to no work by the Safai Karamcharis. Further, there was no work in central office , Niharika as well as the Bhojanalyas, being run by the Shrine Board.
Owing to the complete strike of employees and Safai Karamcharis of the Board, the pilgrims had to suffer a lot and they were seen seeking help from locals.
Later on , the unions of employees and Safai Karamcharis suspended their strike after assurance by Additional CEO Anshul Garg for redressal of their all problems at the earliest. The Additional CEO also announced the implementation of 7th Pay Commission. in favour of the employees.
