Pilgrim killed, 3 injured as bus hits barrier

REASI, Oct 18: A pilgrim of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi was killed while three others were injured when the bus they were traveling in collided with a barrier angle of a checking point in Moori area of Katra, today morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number UP13AT-8585 was on its way to Katra when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it collided with a barrier angle of a checking point at Moori at around 0615 hours, resulting into injuries to four pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to CHC Katra, where doctors declared one of the injured persons as brought dead.
The three injured persons were later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for advanced treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Khajuru, son of Rattan, a resident of Rajipur Palwal Haryana, while the injured have been identified as Mahesh Kumar, son of Parkash, Sonu Kumar, son of Roshan Pal and Mithan Lal, son of Ganeshi Thakur, all residents of Uttar Pradesh.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Katra Police Station and investigation started.
