JAMMU, May 2: A deputation of Public Health Engineering Employees Welfare Association (PHEEWA) met the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Ch Sham Lal and apprised him of the problems being faced by the workers.
Led by Balwinder Singh, president of the Association, the members during meeting projected the burning issues of the workers. The main demands raised in the meeting included framing of a policy for regularization of daily rated workers appointed after 1994, conduct of timely DPC of all cadre, according proper designation as per nature of job to the workers, filling up of vacant posts and appointment of new staff as per projects and grant of risk allowance to the workers.
The Minister listened to their issues patiently and assured to address their genuine demands.
The others who accompanied included Balbir Rai, Amrik Singh, B S Pinka, Ravi Sharma, Gagandeep, Raj Kumar, Parshotam Lal, Jagjit Singh and Subhash Kumar.
