JAMMU, May 22:  The PHE workers  today warned the higher authorities to stage mass protest on Thursday in support of their long pending issues, being ignored by the senior officers of the department.
In an emergency  meeting of the PHE Workers Welfare Association (Jammu province), held here under the chairmanship of general secretary, Subhash Verma, the members expressed strong resentment against the attitude of the senior officers for ignoring the burning issues of the PHE employees and workers.
While discussing the pending genuine demands of the employees, the members in the meeting resolved to hold mass protest demonstration in the office of Chief Engineer , PHE Jammu at  BC Road complex.   They demanded release of pending wages of the daily rated workers of the department, confirmation of the promotions of the employees which was done about three years back and regularization of all the  daily rated/ consolidated workers without any discrimination.
The Association took strong exception to the discriminatory policy of the State Govt as adopted in the regularization process.  It alleged that ITI trained and land donor cases are being given preference while others having long tenure of service in PHE are being ignored. The Association also urged upon the authorities to expedite the process of regularization.
Prominent among others present there included, Surjeet Singh, Ram Lubhaya, Manzoor Ali, Tilak Raj, Kuldip Sharma, Lal Chand  and Ajit Singh.
