PHE employees hold protest against SHO’s unwarranted action

JAMMU, May 31: PHE employees under the banner of PHE Employees Coordination Committee comprising  Superintendent engineers, Executive engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers and representatives of Workers’ Union, today held a protest demonstration at PHE Complex, BC Road, here today  against the unwarranted action of SHO Bakshi Nagar, who trespassed the PHE Complex, Boys Hostel Medical College ube Well complex  and forcefully restrained the workers from performing Government duty, yesterday.
The protestors alleged that the SHO restrained the workers  from performing their duty, who were lowering the submersible pump to restore the water supply to Medical College and Hospital Jammu and gave thrashing to the workers and enginners concerned.
The SHO also arrested Assistant Executive Engineer alongwith two junior engineers and kept them in illegal confinement at Police Station Bakshi Nagar for the whole night, the protestors said. They condemned the unwarranted action of SHO Bakshi Nagar and demanded stern action against him.
Meanwhile, all the vital installations of PHE were halted today for two hours from 5 pm to 7 pm.  The PHE employees said if no action would be taken against the SHO till 12 noon tomorrow, they will be compelled to shut down all the PHE installations for 12 hours.
The engineers who spoke were Naresh Khajuria, Sanjay Sharma, RS Jasrotia, VK Trikha, Sunil Sharma, Upinder Singh, GS Baloria, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Bakshi Singh, Swaran Singh and many others.
