PHE employees hold meet, project demands

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: Water Works PHE Employees Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Senior Vice President of PHE Employees Association Jammu Province.
While speaking, Som Nath said that the Government in not paying heeds towards the genuine demands of the PHE employees. The workers are sincerely working in the department, but the Government failed to pay their wages, which are pending for the past 45 months, he stated.
“Our families are at the verge of starvation and our children are not going home as we can’t pay their fees”, he added.
Som Nath demanded release of pending wages of 45 months, change designation of employees, engage new employees to keep many schemes operational, remove qualification bar in SRO 520 and provide minimum wages.
He appealed to the Government to redress the issues on priority basis.
Among others, who spoke were Suraj Parkash, Dinesh Kumar, Rajinder Sharma, Som Raj Gupta, Sanjay Kumar, Madan Lal, Amarnath, Vishwanath, Sham Lal and Sudesh Kumar.
