They shouted loud  slogans against the PHE Minister and the State Government for their failure to honour their commitment. They alleged that  despite assurances several times and even during previous agitation they had assured to solve their issue within three months and on their assurance agitation was suspended, but now more than six months have passed, the Government has failed to even initiate action in this regard. They are just buying time and befooling the hapless workers. The workers have not been paid their wages  since long.
While addressing large gathering of daily wagers, Association president,  Tanveer Hussain said that during Assembly session Finance Minister had assured to regularize them but till date no progress has been witnessed in this regard.  He claimed that  if the demands of the workers are not met at the earliest, they will be forced to intensify agitation and suspend water supply for which State Government will be responsible.
The concerned PHE Minister had assured that from April 2017, the process will commence but unfortunately nothing of the sort has been seen so far. He said even the wages of many workers pending for the last more than three years have not been released.
Deepak Gupta, vice president said  that workers along with their families will sit on hunger strike shortly if  their demands are not addressed within one week. He said that workers would intensify strike in coming days.
Other office bearers including Bhanu Partap, Sanjiv Thakur, Manjit Singh, Hoshiyar Singh, Subhash Chander, Vijay Kumar, Dhani Ram, Jivan Singh, Altaf Hussain, Rajesh Sharma and Ravi Verma also  addressed the gathering.
