MENDHAR, Dec 26: The PHE daily wagers, ITI trained and CP workers and Kissan Mazdoor Union members held separate protests in Mendhar town here today.
The PHE workers earlier assembled at PHE Sub Divisional complex and held protest demonstration for about an hour. They were demanding pending wages of 40 months, their regularization and creation of separate wage head and regular payment of wages every month. These workers are on strike for the last several weeks.
After it they took out a protest march in the town. They were carrying banners and placards in hands. Later, they went to the office of SDM Mendhar, Thakur Sher Singh and presented a memorandum. They also met local MLA, who assured to take up their issue with the concerned authorities. The MLA Javed Rana urged upon the Govt to release their pending wages.
Meanwhile, Kissan Mazdoor Union also held protest demonstration at Shahidi Yadgar Mendhar today. They were demanding release of MGNREGA payments of the poor labourers from different areas of Mendhar Sub Division. Abdul Majid was leading the protest. Later, they met the SDM and submitted a memorandum.
