PHDCCI members, hoteliers call on Governor on yatra issue

JAMMU, Mar 13: A joint delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) and Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra (HRAK) led by National president PHDCCI Anil Khaitan and accompanied by Rakesh Wazir president, HRAK called on the Governor,  NN Vohra at Raj Bhawan here  and discussed the important issues concerning  prolong stay of pilgrims at Katra,  increasing investment  in the State  and generate employment.
Khaitan while speaking on the occasion said that the annual visit of lakhs of yatris to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine had positively affected the economy of the whole State by providing livelihood employment to the lakhs  of people over here. He said fall  in yatra for the last few years is a matter of great concern and the real cause for that has to be addressed  and affective  steps needed to be taken.
While suggesting the steps he said that the wrong notion from the minds of the visitors all over India needs to be removed through vast publicity that disturbance in a part of Kashmir does never mean the disturbance at this Holy Shrine.   He  also suggested many other measures for increasing yatra including easy and safest twin engine helicopter service with easy booking system with 25% mandatory seats for the senior citizens, handicapped and the patients, making usage of  Panchhi helipad at Darbar for normal daily air sorties for the Yatries also, early starting of, on Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar pattern the free Langer, the Kar Sewa, self- foot washing point etc. at the Vaishnodevi Darbar also.
He advocated  encouragement by providing at nominal or for free Spiritual Growth Centre  and all other places which can hold religious congregations for all the spiritual, religious and the Vaishnodevi functions including Jagrans, religious congregations etc., at Katra, entirely cleanness of Katra township highlighting to the nearby worth visiting religious spots by publicity at Katra & enroute Bhawan for places like Deva Mai, Nav Deviyaan, Aghar Jeeto, Baba Dhansar, Devi ki Pindiyaan for increasing the stay of yatries etc.
He emphasized for more and more Yatra registration counters at Katra either by Shrine Board  or other agencies.
The Governor listened the delegation patiently and assured that sympathetic consideration will be given to each and every issue.
Among others who accompanied the delegation included Hotel Association Chairman Shyam Lal Kesar, general  secretary  Kuldeep Dubey, vice president Ajay Kotwal, Member Shiv Khori Shrine Board Sardari Lal Dubey, PHDCCI functionaries Kuldeep Gupta, Ratandeep Anand, Aditya Vaid etc.
