JAMMU, Aug 20: A delegation of PHDCCI Jammu Committee today called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, Minister for Power Development, Housing and Urban Development, here today.
The delegation appraised the Deputy Chief Minister about the traffic chaos on Canal-Bakshi Nagar-GMC Road and Canal Head-Jewel Chowk Road subsequent to closure of 4th Tawi Bridge, resulting in huge traffic Jams which last for hours affecting the residents and commercial establishments in this area.
In addition the road to Government Medical College also remains blocked due to huge traffic jams and it is a matter of extreme concern that patients being carried in Ambulances are affected because of traffic jams.
The delegation presented a memorandum asking for early possible full restoration of 4th Tawi Bridge.  The Chamber also stressed upon partial commissioning for light vehicles on one carriageway of Bridge.
Dr Nirmal Singh assured for immediate action in the matter and issued directions to Managing Director JKPCC Ltd, Daleep Thussu on the spot.
The delegation was led by Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman and consisted of Rajinder Motial, Sanjay Aggarwal, Kuldeep Gupta, Pamil Sharma and Prashant Mathur.
