PG Arts, GDC Hiranagar script convincing wins

JAMMU, Feb 24: PG Arts and GDC Bhaderwah registered convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket tournament being organized by the University of Jammu at varsity grounds, here.
In the first match played today, PG Arts got better of GDC Hiranagar by 29 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, PG Arts scored a modest total of 118 runs in 18 overs. Nadeem was the top scorer with 17 runs, while Mayank and Vishab contributed with 14 runs each and Gulzar and Rahul Charan chipped in with 13 runs each. For GDC Hiranagar, Amit Chib took 3 wickets, while Daleep Kumar claimed 2 wickets. Sanjay Dutt, Sahil and Anil Kumar shared one wicket each.
GDC Hiranagar, in reply, managed to score 89 runs in the stipulated 18 overs, thus lost the match by 29 runs. Amit Singh, Munish and Daleep contributed 18, 13 and 11 runs to the total respectively. For PG Arts, Mayank Gautam, Vinay, Pankaj, Rahul and Akram claimed one wicket each.
In another match played today, GDC Bhaderwah prevailed over GDC Samba by 44 runs.
Batting first, GDC Bhaderwah scored 137 runs in 20 overs, with Baber scoring 41 and Usman 28 runs. Deepak and Rahul also chipped in with 18 and 11 runs respectively. For GDC Samba, Prince took 3 wickets, while Surjeet bagged 2 wickets. Anoop, Amit and Yogesh shared one wicket each.
In reply, GDC Samba was bundled out for 93 runs in the 18.4 overs. Manyal top scored with 22 runs, while Amit contributed 17 runs to the total. Aditya and Prince chipped in with 11 runs each. For GDC Bhaderwah, Burhan was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 4 important wickets by conceding 12 runs in his 4 overs, while Zahid bagged 3 wickets. Mubishar and Majeet claimed one wicket each.
The matches were officiated bySaleem-ur-Rehman, Vijay Dogra, Raman Kumar, Jagtar Singh, Rajkumar Bakshi and Manu Khajuria.
