RAMBAN, Mar 4: State Government is monitoring the performance of field officers and officials at various levels to achieve overall development targets and strict action would be taken against non-performers.
This was stated by Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries and Chairman DDB, Abdul Ghani Kohli while chairing District Development Board meeting at Ramban. The Board approved Rs 123.57 crore annual plan for the year 2017-18 for the district.
Vice-Chairperson J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals, Choudhary Zafar Ali, MLA Gool-Arnas Aijaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Banihal, Vikar Rasool Wani, MLA Ramban, Neelam Langeh, MLC Sham Lal Bhagat, District Development Commissioner, (DDC) Mohammad Aijaz, SSP Mohan Lal, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, HoDs of various departments, Chief Engineers besides sectoral and district officers were present in the meeting.
The Chairman instructed the officers to make all out efforts in implementing various decisions taken in the meeting and make vigorous progress on ground to create durable assets.
The Minister directed the officers to be accountable in implementing various schemes and programmes and ensure proper utilization of funds allocated under various heads as proposed under capex budget.
The officers were directed to fully exploit local level economic potential of the district while proposing development plans. The Minister asked them to conduct routine tours and inspections to monitor progress of various ongoing and proposed development works.
Taking serious note of inordinate delay in construction of degree college building at Banihal, the Minister emphasized on the representative of JKPCC to immediately complete the pending work while Deputy Commissioner Kendriya Vidhayala Sangthan Jammu was asked to remain in touch with District Administration so that further course of action in developing KV schools at Ramban and Gool can be chalked out in a hassle free manner.
Meanwhile, legislatures also raised different issues of their respective constituencies like proper identification of new wards for ensuing Panchayat election, approval of MGNREGA works, constitution of nutrition purchase committee under ICDS, funds for conference hall at Gool, opening of AWCs, installation of solar street lights, roads’ compensation,  shortage of staff, online uploading of CP workers, earlier completion of works of roads and buildings, expansion of power and water supply schemes to uncovered habitations, development and upgradation of infrastructure and replacement of wooden electric poles.
Earlier, DDC highlighted the achievements in various sectors.
