Performance of NC-Cong coalition dismal, disappointing: Jugal

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 5: Describing as dismal and disappointing the performance of the NC-Congress Coalition Government in the State during the past five years, state BJP president Jugal Kishore Sharma on Sunday said that the Congress in particular will have to pay a very heavy price in the State in general and Jammu and Ladakh provinces in particular as it badly let down the people of these two provinces to please its pro-autonomy and communal masters in the Valley.
“It is because of the support of the people of Jammu province and Ladakh region that the Congress has been sharing power in the State since November 5, 2002. But instead of fulfilling the promises it held out in 2002 and 2008, including its solemn commitment that it would end discrimination with the grossly ignored and politically marginalized people of these two regions, the Congress acted as the B-team first of the pro-self-rule PDP and then the pro-autonomy NC, he said while addressing Partymen here today.
The Congress Ministers became party to all the anti-Jammu and anti-Ladakh decisions during all these five years of the NC-led Government’s gross misrule to keep their masters in Kashmir in good humour, he added.
He said the Congress had committed a Regional Council for Jammu, but it did nothing in this regard. It had committed that it would empower the elected Panchayats by adopting 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments in their entirety, but it did nothing except to hoodwink the people by holding demonstrations against its own Government. It had promised implementation of Wazir Commission report and setting up of three new districts in Jammu and one in Kashmir, but it subverted the report and created four districts in Kashmir, despite the fact that there was no demand whatsoever in Kashmir for the creation of more additional districts in the Valley,”he added.
Jugal urged the Partymen to fan out across the state to expose not only the misdeeds of the NC-Congress Coalition Government but also the politics of bluff indulged in by the Congress during the past more than eleven years.
