REASI, July 23: The people from Arnas town and adjoining areas, held protest demonstration against the Power Development Department for long power curtailments.
A larger number of people of the area led by Sarpanch Raman Sharma held a demonstration against the poor supply of electricity in the area and took out a strong protest march. They alleged that during night hours the power always remain shut down. Even at the time of opening fast (Roza), it is not available. There is strong resentment among the people against the department.
Later, the protesting villagers reached the office of Tehsildar Arnas Farooq Khan and submitted a memorandum to him for the Minister incharge PDD. They demanded that power supply be improved and there should not be curtailment during night hours.
