POONCH, Nov 23: The people from Lower Ari area today blocked Mendhar-Surankote road and held protest demonstration against the PHE authorities.
They were demanding restoration of water supply to the area which they alleged had been disrupted for the last about three weeks. The villagers including large number of women came out on the road at around 9 am and staged protest for about two hours. The movement of traffic was disrupted on the road. They alleged that pumping station was out of order and several water pipes were also broken.
Later, incharge Police Post Harni and AEE, PHE Mendhar arrived at the site and they pacified the agitating people. Then they lifted their dharna from the road.
