DODA, Mar 9: The people from Changa Kilhotran village held protest against Power Development Department (PDD) authorities at Banna Market and blocked the Thathri-Gandoh-Doda road for around one hour.
They were shouting slogans against concerned PDD staff and Executive Engineer Kishtwar. The protestors said that in absence of scheduled power supply they face lots of difficulties especially students are the worst suffers. “We urge PDD to ensure power supply as per schedule or face agitation”, they warned.
The protest was led by NC leader Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, who while speaking said that PDD takes electricity bills from them, but failed to provide regular power supply. We have been charged extra amounts during the month of December and January”, he added. The protesters alleged that there is no scheduled power supply in their localities and demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities towards the matter.
