People protest over worst condition of Budhi road

KATHUA, Aug 14: The irate residents of Budhi, Barnoti, Sounthal and adjoining areas held a protest demonstration against the PWD for its failure in constructing Barnoti to Budhi road for last one year.
The protestors said the condition of the road is worse and muddy making it even difficult to walk on it. The protestors raised slogans against the Government for its failure in construction of road well in time.
While addressing protestors, Nek Ram, Kuldeep Singh and Krishan Lal widely criticized the Government for its failure in completing the road up-gradation work and alleged that the contractor left the road in middle creating trouble for common masses- to even walk on the road in rainy season. The vehicles can’t be driven on this road, the added.
“If any vehicle tries to ply on the road it may get trapped in mud and faces technical fault. The school going children were also facing problems and nearly half a dozen of villages of the area are dependent on this road which connects them to National Highway and the district headquarter, the protestors said.
They said the rainy season adds to woes of common man as they as well as the vehicles get trapped in the slush and heaps of mud gathered on the road. They warned the administration to complete the upgradition of the road otherwise people may be forced to block Highway.
