People protest against irregular water, power supply

JAMMU, Aug 19: The residents of Jammu West held a protest demonstration led by Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement alleging irregular drinking water and erratic power supply in their area, since days together.
The residents said that they are facing long duration power cut, low voltage in the localities resulting in failure of regular water supply.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple alleged that due to low voltage supply their electronic gadgets have either damaged or are unable to work properly.
He alleged further that PDD officers were not taking calls of the complaints of the general public who ring up to apprise them about their problems.
Dimple demanded immediate starting of the tube well and bore well constructed at New Plot near State Motor Garages in year 2014, but till date it has not started due to non-sanctioning of power connection to the tube well.
Dimple also demanded Union Government to return power projects, proper functioning of Manda- Amphalla grid station and requested for installation of the 50 MWT receiving grid station at Janipur.
He demanded free of cost shifting of old connections and alleged that ERA and PHE are deliberately harassing the consumers and damaging the old connections so that they buy new connections @ Rs 3500/- from ERA.
