RAJOURI, Aug 29: The people from Palangar area of Thannamandi today held protest and blocked road for about one and half hour, as the PDD authorities have failed to replace damaged transformer and restore electricity supply during the last 13 months.
The villagers from Morha Imli Mitti and Palangar came out on the road during the day today and blocked main road. This village is hardly one kilometer from the road. The villagers led by Muzaffar Choudhary and Mohd Amin and Akram Choudhary held strong protest and disrupted the movement of vehicles. They were shouting slogans against the PDD authorities. The villagers alleged that the PDD field staff of the area was requested several times, but it failed to restore power supply. The electric transformer could not be replaced but they were continuously receiving power bills which is mockery.
Later, SDPO Thannamandi Iftikhar Talib reached there along with some police force and  pacified the public. He said that SDM will arrive tomorrow at headquarters and their issue with be taken up with the concerned Executive Engineer at Rajouri tomorrow. He sought two days time from the agitating villagers. Then they lifted dharna from the road and allowed traffic.
