SAMBA, May 26: The residents of Gagore village held protest against PHE Department.
A large number of people, including women, assembled on the main road at village Gagore and blocked the Vijaypur-Ramgarh road while demanding regular water supply.
The protesters said that from the past some days, there is no drinking water supply in their area and they are suffering to meet their basic requirements. They added that PHE Department has shown no concern over their plight.
The protesting women lamented that the concerned department had taken them for granted and alleged that the concerned officials of the PHE Department are least bothered about the supply of drinking water to their residential area.
“We are unable to offer a single glass of water to any guest visiting our home while our children are ridiculed for their no fault as they sometimes have to go to school wearing dirty uniforms and even without taking bath,” a woman explained.
With a warning to intensify their protest if water supply is not restored in their area, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the Vijaypur-Ramgarh road.
