UDHAMPUR, Aug 9: People of Panchari villages today staged a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) as well as PHE department and blocked Dhar Road.
A large number of people particularly students of village Saddal of Panchari area, who are presenting putting up at village Sui Sambal migrant camp, today raised slogans against PHE department and PDD, alleging that they are without electricity and drinking water for last one month.
They said that there is no regular supply of drinking water as well as power supply. “We are facing about 12 hours power cut in a day, which has increased our problems in this hot and humid weather”, they said, adding, several times they approached the concerned higher authorities of PDD and PHE department but all in vain.
Officers of civil administration and SHO Udhampur, Sanjeev Gupta, rushed to the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring them to take up the issue with the concerned authorities. On the assurance of the officials, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
