RAJOURI, Feb 11: The people from Chowkian village and adjoining areas of Darhal  held strong protest demonstration after the dead body of  a missing middle aged villager was recovered from nearby forest after three days today.
The deceased has been identified as Gulzaman Malik (36), son of Mohd Iqbal , resident of Chowkian village. He went on missing three days ago and the parents had lodged a missing report with concerned police. The family members  and police were looking for him.
A villager noticed the body and informed family and then police. It was lying about two and half kilometers away from his house. The police reached the site and after examining spot shifted it to Darhal Hospital for postmortem and then handed over to the family. Some injury marks were also visible on the body, sources said.
The relatives and villagers then kept the body on the road at Darhal town and started protest demonstration. They alleged that it was clear murder. Gulzaman’s parents pointed needle of suspension towards his wife.
Later, SDPO Thannamandi Iftikhar Choudhary reached there  and he assured to have fair investigation. He said the culprits  will not be spared.  He said that inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC has been launched and it can be changed to murder if some evidence was received. Then the people lifted dharna   at around 5 pm.
