People of Jammu region left on mercy of God: Bhalla

JAMMU, Mar 17: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that the people of Jammu region have been left on the mercy of God by the BJP Ministers and Legislators to whom the Jammu people have given massive mandate.
While interaction with the people in Gandhi Nagar area here today, Bhalla said the people of Jammu were feeling cheated. They have been left on the mercy of God by the legislators from Jammu region. The BJP Ministers have totally surrendered before the PDP for the sake of power and there was strong resentment among the people here.
Bhalla said the soaring prices of essential commodities has  badly affected the middle classes and the poor families, which refuse to stabilize despite concern shown and promises made by the Government .He said the inflation has not hit only buyers but sellers too. They keep things in stock but customers purchase them in small amount, sometimes a lot of edibles get stale in the shop.
While slamming both Central and State Governments for their failure to control rising inflation that has badly affected domestic budget, Bhalla  said this Govt has failed to contain price hike.  Terming the tenure of Coalition Government as an example of complete betrayal as all their poll promises proved to be hollow, Bhalla said  despite getting huge mandate from Jammu and Kashmir respectively ,PDP-BJP failed to deliver on single platform because of their indulgent in personal issues putting the state into lurch.
While alleging that people of many localities of Jammu city are facing shortage of water, ration and other crisis, former Minister said that rising inflation coupled with other problems have made the life of people miserable in the State. The Congress leader slammed the elected representatives for ignoring genuine and basic issues of common men who are moving from pillar to post for the redressal of their genuine grievances.
He further said that the present Govt gives assurances but no one has ever been fulfilled. Delay in developmental projects amounts to denial of these projects. He said that before proceeding for the Smart City projects basic facilities should be provided to the people of Jammu.
