KISHTWAR, Jan 30: The residents of Marwah area today held protest against Government and district administration for its failure to provide heli services to snow bound Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan areas.
Large number of residents assembled infront of Dak Bungalow here and raised slogans against the Government and district administration. They also blocked the road, leading to long traffic snarls.
The protestors alleged that the Government and district administration have failed to provide heli services to the snow bound areas of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan, where road connectivity remains cut off for several months.
They stated that due to non-availability of air service several lives have been lost and yesterday a pregnant lady also died as she could not be provided specialized medical treatment.
The protestors demanded early starting of heli service for these areas so as to save precious lives.
After getting information Tehsildar rushed to the spot and later a meeting of protestors and Deputy Commissioner (DC) was held. DC assured the protestors that steps will be taken as soon as possible to redress their grievances.
