People fountainhead of power: Haq

SRINAGAR, May 29: Mini-ster for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law & Justice Abdul Haq today said that in democracy people are fountainhead of power, adding that the present Government wants to give real meaning to democracy in the State.
The Minister was addressing a public grievance redressal camp at Thayen village of Kalaroos in the frontier district of Kupwara.
Minister of Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Gani Kohli and Minister of State for Forest, Ecology & Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries Mir Zahoor Ahmad also present in the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Haq said that the present dispensation led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has changed the traditional procedure of governance by making it people centric in a real sense. He said that the Government is keen to address the public grievances and wants to reach out to every Section of the society for overall development of the state. The Government wants to bring governance at the doorsteps of the people, he added.
Inaugurating a Trout Rearing-cum-Sale Unit in Thayen, the Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Gani Kohli said that the Government is committed to explore avenues to provide job opportunities to educated unemployed youth of the State. He said the department will construct 800 new fish ponds under convergence MGNREGA scheme so as to provide employment to unemployed youths of the State.
Mir Zahoor Ahmad also spoke on the occasion and said that the present Government led by Mehbooba Mufti doesn’t  believe in working from the closed doors of Secretariat. He said that the Government is working tirelessly to bring governance at the doorsteps of the people to ease their hardships.
On the occasion, the Ministers inaugurated a Panchayat Ghar at Kalaroos and interacted with people there.
During the Public Durbar at Thayen, people from different villages of the Kalaroos belt apprised the Ministers about their grievances. The Ministers passed on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of their grievances. They also assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in phased manner.
