Pensioners’ plea to State Govt

JAMMU, Feb 23:  The J&K State Pensioners Association has urged upon the State Government to clear the pending DA arrears of the pensioners, enhance Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month and implement the 7th Pay Commission report in the State on the pattern of Central Government.
In communications to the Commissioner/ Secretary Finance,  Navin K Choudhary  and Director General Accounts and Treasuries,  president of the Association,  Krishn Singh sought attention of the officers towards expeditious redressal of the long pending issues of payment of DA arrears from January to June 2009 to the pre-2006 pensioners, revision of  pension SOs  and other sections of employees of Accounts, Statistical, Sheep/ Animal Husbandry and other departments retired during the period from January 1, 1996 to  February 19, 2003, upgraded notionally from 1-1-1996 and monetarily  from 19-2-2003, as their colleagues retired after 19-2-3003  or are still in service, have been benefitted long back as instructions  from the State Govt in this regard to the office of Principal Accountant General , J&K are awaited, which may be furnished at the earliest.
The Association also  demanded implementation of 7th Pay Commission report in the State on Central pattern and enhancement of Medical Allowance of the pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month.
