JAMMU, Mar 16: The Senior Citizens and pensioners Forum in a meeting here, today discussed their various demands.
The meeting which was chaired by patron of the organization Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani demanded that Government should release two due DA installments from July last year and January this year in favour of employees and pensioners.
The meeting which was attended by G M Bhat Hamdarad, P N Raina and Mushtaq Ahmed also demanded that till the implementation of Seventh Pay Commission the Government should provide interim relief to employees and pensioners besides hiking the Medical Allowance to Rs 1000 per month. It demanded same benefits be given to J&K pensioners which are given to Central Government pensioners and benefit of hiking the 20 percent pension be made after attaining 65 years of age instead of 80 years.
The meeting demanded implementation of SRO 59 in favour of retired employees also from the date it was made applicable to other employees in the State besides regularization of daily wagers.
