JAMMU, Mar 28: All J&K State Pensioners Association today highlighted their demands like implementation of 7th Pay Commission (PC) and enhancement of medical allowance.
Addressing a press conference here today, Madan Lal Abrol said that Centre has introduced 7th PC for its employees but unfortunately Finance Minister didn’t speak in his budget for the 7th PC.
He further said that MLAs are getting Rs 3000 per month as medical allowance but the State pensioners are getting a meager amount of Rs 300 per month for the last 20 years. He said as the cost of the medicines as well as consultation fees of the doctors is increasing day by day, Government should increase medical allowance of its employees and pensioners.
The speakers further demanded that pensioners be given Identity cards from Government side so that this can be shown to the hospitals to get benefits. Moreover, till 7th PC is implemented, interim relief of at least 20% should be given to the pensioners, they said and stressed upon Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter and fulfill the genuine demands of the pensioners.
